The government is investing £5 billion to deliver lightning-fast reliable gigabit-capable broadband to everyone in the UK. Homes and business in hard-to-reach areas can be eligible for funding towards the cost of installing gigabit-capable broadband. You could be eligible:

If your home or business is in a rural area.
Your existing broadband speeds are less than 100mbps.
A gigabit capable network isn’t likely to be built in your area in the near future.
No government-funded contract is planned or in place.

The Welsh Government offers a grant through the Access Broadband Cymru Scheme. This scheme provides grants to fund (or part-fund) the installation costs of a new broadband connection for homes and businesses in Wales, so it’s a great time to boost your broadband.

How long does it take for the grant process to go through?

You would normally receive an offer of funding within 1 week. If you haven't heard back then the application can be chased by emailing broadband@gov.wales
